4/24/2020 - Robofest World Championship Goes Online Due to the unpredictability of the pandemic in Michigan, we would like to officially announce that in lieu of in-person competitions on Lawrence Technological University’s Campus, we will be hosting the 2020 Robofest Online World Championship (ROWC) events in Late August ~ October using video conferencing tools such as Zoom. The online series of events will include 2020 GolfBowl Game and Exhibition categories as well as Unknown Mission Challenge, RoboArts, RoboMed, and BottleSumo Time Trials.
Registration is still open for the USA and International Video Qualifiers.
Robofest is a festival of competitions and events with autonomous robots that encourages students to have fun while learning principles of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) and Computer Science. Students design, construct, and program the robots. Any robotics kits are allowed in the construction of robots. Robots can be programmed with any programming language. Robofest programs support Computer Science for All.
Since 1999, over 28,000 students have competed in Robofest, including teams from 15 United States and the countries of Brazil, Canada, China, Colombia, Ecuador, Egypt, Ethiopia, England, France, Ghana, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Kenya, Lebanon, Macau, Malawi, Mexico, Morocco, Nigeria, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Taiwan, and UAE.
Teams compete in the junior (grades 5-8), senior (grades 9-12), and college divisions. For RoboParade, Junior includes 4th grade. Student teams, composed of up to five members each, can participate in a variety of events in 2020:
|Accomplish robotics missions using fully autonomous robots. Robofest Game especially puts math skills to the test.|
|Each team has complete freedom to show off any creative computer programmed robotics R&D project.|
|High School and College teams create intelligent and interactive medical robotics/device projects|
|Vision Centric Challenge. Advanced category for Sr. high school students||
Be the first robot to push intentionally a bottle off the table OR be the last robot remaining on the table. (Level: beginners)

2020 Competition Registration opened in November 2019 for Qualifiers and Local Open Categories.
