Day Camps for Beginners

Throughout the year, Robofest coordinates Day Camps for Beginners.  Some are open to the public and others are coordinated for individual organizations. 

Summer Sessions:

  • Beginning BottleSumo Session 1: Tuesday, June 18

  • Beginning BottleSumo Session 2: Wednesday, June 19 (repeat of session 1)

  • Beginning RoboParade Tuesday, August 6

  • Beginning BottleSumo Session 3: Wednesday, August 7 (repeat)

 

 For teams of up to 3 students (team of 2 is recommended) Grades 4th through 8th.

Camp Name Agenda
BottleSumo Morning: Hands-on workshop to learn how to program Lego EV3 robots to play BottleSumo games using EV3 software
After lunch: BottleSumo competition. Winners will win trophies.
RoboParade Morning: Hands-on workshop to learn how to program Lego EV3 robots for RoboParade using EV3 software
After lunch: each team will join the RoboParade. Winners will win trophies

Public Camps are hosted in the Computer Science Robotics Lab (J234), Taubman Complex Lawrence Technological University, Southfield, Michigan. $50 registration fee per team.

How to register:

A parent or teacher can register teams online after creating a coach account at www.robofest.net.

What to bring: (A robot for each team will be provided)

  • Signed Robofest Consent and Release form per student

  • ‚ÄčOne laptop per team. (we have a limited supply of laptops to loan if requested)
