(1) Meet DARwIn-OP, a humanoid research platform at Robofest MI Championship!

As a part of National Robotics Week ( http://www.nationalroboticsweek.org/ ) events, DARwIn-OP, a humanoid research platform will be demonstrated during the Robofest Michigan Championship on Saturday, April 14, around 2:30pm, in the Field House on the Lawrence Tech University campus. There is no charge to attend. Details about MI Championship can be found on the web at: http://www.robofest.net/2012/MI_championship.htm . Do not miss this opportunity how Robofest will be using humanoid robots for STEM education!

(2) Robofest 5 and 10 year coach recognition

Robofest is not possible without leadership, sacrifice, dedication, and hard work of all the coaches. We have been recognizing coaches reaching 5th and 10th anniversary year. The following coaches will be receiving plaque of appreciation.

(3) Robofest Info Meeting on April 14, during Michigan Championship

If you would like to become involved in Robofest next year, please come to an informational meeting which is being held during our Michigan Championship on Saturday (See above 1), from 10:30-11:20 A.M.

(4) World Robofest on May 19

The event is held at the Lawrence Technological University, 21000 West Mile 10 in Southfield, Michigan on Sat. May 19, 2012. Opening ceremonies will begin at 9am. Admission is free. Please check out info web page at: http://www.robofest.net/2012/worldchamp.htm

(5) Robofest at IGVC in June

Robofest will have after-glow R2R game, Bottle Sumo, and Vision Centric L2Bot Challenge competitions on June 9-10 during IGVC (www.igvc.org). For more details, please visit www.robofest.net

(6) Summer Camps

Robofest office offers Android mobile phone robotics, Arduino Robotics, L2Bot robotics, and NXT robotics summer camps. For more details, please go to Robofest home at www.robofest.net and click on summer camps link on the right upper corner.

 

(7) NDIA-MI Scholarship

The National Defense Industrial Association - Michigan Chapter, a Robofest Gold sponsor, is again providing scholarships for students pursuing B.S. or M.S. degrees in STEM-related fields.  Last year NDIA-MI awarded eight students scholarships ranging from $2,000 to $2,500. The awards went to four high school seniors entering college and four students already in college. Applications are due by April 17th and can be submitted on-line with a link to STEM found at: www.ndia-mich.org.

(8) LEGO NXT workshops for teachers in Bay City, Michigan
