(1) RoboParade 2010 at Macomb Community College, Michigan

5th Annual Thanksgiving RoboParade will be held at the Lorenzo Cultural Center on

Nov. 20 (Sat.) from 12:30pm ~ 3:30pm

 

Organized by Robofest office, the annual indoor parade features fully autonomous robot floats, which follow a parade route and detect robots in front of them, constructed and programmed by student teams in fourth through 12th grades. Team registration is open now. For more information, please visit www.robofest.net and click on RoboParade link to read rules and register teams.

 

(2) Workshops for Thanksgiving RoboParade Teams

Hands-on workshop for registered teams will be held at Lawrence Tech on Oct. 9 (Sat.) from 9am ~ Noon.

 

Another repeated Hands-on workshop for Thanksgiving RoboParade (rookies) will be held at Macomb Community College on Oct. 16 (Sat.), 1 ~ 4pm

Interested school administrators, teachers or parents of students in fourth 12 grades should contact Dr. CJ Chung, [email protected] to reserve seats. Note that this workshop is only for registered teams.

 

(3) Robofest Event at U of Michigan, Dearborn

As a part of IEEE SEM Fall Conference, the following Robofest event will be held at U of M Dearborn on Thursday, Nov. 4, 2010:

 

5:00 - 5:20pm - Introduction to Robofest challenges

5:20 - 5:40pm - Vision Centric Challenge 2010 and 2011 Demonstrations

5:40 - 7:00pm - 2v2 RoboSumo competitions (Believed-to-be the world first multi robot sumo competition)

Also we are looking for a few high school teams to participate in the new 2v2RoboSumo competition on that day. If your team is interested in this pilot competition, please contact Dr. Chung at [email protected] .

Robofest 2010 official report and YouTube video are now available on the web at www.robofest.net . Send us your mail address to [email protected], if you need copies of DVDs.

 

(5) Robofest Seeking Site Hosts for 2011 Competition Season

Robofest is seeking site hosts for the 2011 Competition Season.  Qualifying Competition Sites are needed in Feb ~ March of 2011. Interested individuals, organizations, or schools should contact Robofest office at [email protected] or check out www.robofest.net and click on *For Site Hosts* link. We are accepting applications until November. Early respondents that become Official Site Hosts will be appearing on the promotional poster.
