(1) RoboParade 2011 at Macomb Community College

6th Annual Thanksgiving RoboParade will be held at Macomb Community College Expo Center on

Nov. 19 (Sat.) from 12:00pm ~ 3:00pm

 

Please mark your calendar. The annual indoor RoboParade features fully autonomous robot floats, which follow a parade route, detect robots in front of them, and are constructed and programmed by student teams in fourth through 12th grades. Team registration is open. For more information, please visit www.robofest.net and click on RoboParade link.

 

Hands-on workshop for registered teams will be held at Lawrence Tech on Oct. 29 (Sat.) from 9am ~ Noon (Full) and 1pm-4pm (a few seats left). To register, send email to Jerri Ureel to [email protected].

 

(2) Students Seeking RoboParade/Robofest Team to Join

Two brothers in the Southfield area are looking for a RoboParade/Robofest team to join in the Jr. Division.If you have room on your team for two more, please contact their mother, Demetra Gleton at [email protected].

 

(3) Robofest Seeking Site Hosts for 2012 Competition Season

Robofest is seeking site hosts for the 2012 Competition Season. Qualifying Competition Sites are needed in Feb ~ March of 2012. Interested individuals, organizations, or schools should contact Robofest office at [email protected] or check out www.robofest.net and click on *For Site Hosts* link or contact Jerri Ureel [email protected] (248)204-3568. It is a good opportunity to show case your school/organization, program, and facilities with autonomous robotics, effective way for STEM learning.

 

(4) Robofest 2012 Kick Off on Dec 5, 2011

13th season annual Robofest 2012 will be kicked-off on Mon., Dec, 5, 2011, 2:30pm ~ 4:00pm (EST) at LTU in Southfield in Buell Mgt. Building, room M218. Rules will be announced, 2012 game will be unveiled, and team registration will begin. Anyone can participate in the meeting online using Wimba. The direct link will be on our website at www.robofest.net. To join the online meeting, we strongly recommend you test the connection before the meeting. We will also post recorded session on our website. Some repeated identical meetings will be held on future days. For details, please check out future eNews or www.robofest.net.

 

(5) World Robofest 2012 Date Change

Some Robofest documents had World Robofest 2012 date as May 12, 2012. This date has changed to May 19, 2012. Please change/mark your calendar.

 

(6) Robofest 2011 Report and Videos

 Robofest 2011 official report and YouTube video are now available on the web at www.robofest.net . Send your postal address to [email protected], if you need copies of DVDs.

(7) RoboExpo 2011 Report

The inaugural RoboExpo 2011 held at LTU on Monday, September 26, 2011 was a resounding success.We had over 200 participants come and visit with robotics organizations from the academic, industrial, and government sectors.Many of the participants joined in a variety of technical breakout sessions, and a lucky few were the raffle winners of NXT robotics kits and Kinect Sensors.Survey results can be found at www.roboexpo.us . We will improve the event based on the survey results. See you next year!

 

(8) The Robot Garage in Michigan
